After Party is a dark comedy with an ensemble cast that takes place over one night in the lives of a group of young New Yorkers barreling towards or crawling away from the toughest questions of their lives. After Party is about our dependencies: on our friends, on success, on love and on the drug that fuels Charlie’s party, desire.

Director Amos Posner

A born and raised New Yorker, Amos Posner fell in love with film after unintentionally becoming a movie critic for The Daily Cardinal at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The Cardinal is also where he began working with co-writer Joe Uchill. Back in New York, he took every production or development job he could get, even briefly serving in the costume department of a Bollywood film before working at the feet of such filmmakers as Bennett Miller, Scott Macaulay, Gary Winick, and Ted Hope. Working under Hope at This Is That, he met April Lamb, who ultimately became his producer. This led to a string of short films together: Central Park Joker, Perspective, and And… A Fragmented Biography. His first feature film, B-Side, premired at the Newport International Film Festival in 2013


Writer/Producer Jesse Knight

While receiving his BFA in Film/Video from Pratt Institute, Jesse Knight became interested in mythology, storytelling and, eventually, screenwriting. Over the last decade, Jesse has written a dozen screenplays including two in development (4/20: A Story About Losers,  The Lewds)  In addition, Jesse has produced music and deejayed internationally. His short, Waiting for Molly, premiered at the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival in 2013. His screenplay, A Lush Life, was a semi-finalist in the 2014 Slamdance screenplay competition and a winner of the 2014 Big Star screenwriting competition. A documentary on housing in New York City is also in development.


Producer Michael Goodin

Michael Goodin is as an independent film producer with over ten years experience. He is highly regarded within the filmmaking community for his ability to produce high quality, studio grade entertainment on independent budgets. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Monolith Pictures. Most recently, Michael produced the feature film “Freedom” starring Cuba Gooding Jr. which released successfully on over 1000 screens in Australia last year. Other notable works include “Meskada” (Tribeca Film Festival, 2010); “Down the Shore” (Starring James Gandolfini and Famke Jensen); Affluenza (Dir. Kevin Asch); and Family Games, which he produced with New York City film legend Ben Barenholtz.


Executive Producer Doug Matejka

Doug’s industry career began at Forensic Films, where he worked as the assistant to Scott Macaulay and Robin O’Hara before moving on to establish Sidetrack Films (Favela Rising, Kurt Cobain About a Son, Beautiful Losers), where he was Head of Production. Since leaving Sidetrack, he has produced, line-produced, and PM’d numerous features, pilots, series, and music videos for such diverse clients as ABC, Katy Perry, Sony, The Eagles, and Hulu. Most recently, he produced Angels in Exile (with Charlize Theron) and was the executive producer of B-Side, a new romantic comedy from first time feature director Amos Posner.


Marketing and Branding Producer Joanna Bowzer

Joanna Bowzer is a New York City-based director, writer and producer with projects in film, theater and the Web. Her films have been screened in over 40 film festivals including SxSW, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Catalina International Film Festival, New York City International Film Festival and Aspen Film Festival. In addition to her work in film and theater,Joanna also has nearly a decade of experience working with Internet start-ups and content producers on premium digital media business development, marketing and branding. 


Director of Photography Chloe Smolkin

Chloe Smolkin is a bicoastal cinematographer—splitting time between New York and Los Angeles—who has over a decade of experience in the worlds of independent film, nationally broadcast television, and high-end commercials.  Her commercial clients are varied, and include Ford, PayPal, Nike, and Sephora.  She has shot many nationally aired TV shows, including 20/20 and Good Morning America for ABC, Top Chef Masters for Bravo, and Quirky for the Sundance Channel.  Her most recently completed feature as DP, Before,was the winner of Best Alternative Feature at the Manhattan Film Festival.


Editor Colby Bartine

Colby Bartine is a film editor from Philadelphia, PA currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. He is known for his editing work on films such as Chris Malinowski's "Yes, Your Tide" and Josh Sternfeld's "Amy Makes Three"  as well as Showtime's "The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth". Colby brings a positive attitude and ambitious drive to each new production. His style is defined by the ability to effectively synthesize the artistic goals of the film with the technology and workflow of post-production.

 


Production Designer Hannah Stoddard

As a graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Hannah Stoddard has focused her efforts on the world of art department, channeling a fine art background and film education to production designer. Most recently she completed a feature in Atlanta “Folk Hero & Funny Guy” starring Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street) and Alex Karpovsky (Girls). She has worked closely with renowned designer Inbal Weinberg (Blue Valentine and Perks of Being a Wallflower) on the films  “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn” and the recently released “St. Vincent” starring Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy. She also assisted in the art department of the NBC television series, “Believe.”


Costume Designer Jevyn Nelms

Jevyn is a costume designer and fabric artist from New York by way of Chicago.  She spent considerable time in Boston where she was a member of the prestigious art colony, “The Piano Factory.”  There, she experimented with many art forms including fabric art and glass.  

After receiving her BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she began her career as a costume designer.  She works in theater and film and designs videos and commercials.

She has had the privilege of working with many notable actors including, Steven Guttenberg, Frankie Fasion and Diane Lane.
